How Make a Child menu Item in the Navigation Menu (Via The NETSIMPLE Dashboard):
Overview: This guide will walk you through how to make a page appear in a dropdown menu from a parent page in your navigation menu (header).
Note: In order to add a child page to your website you will need to ensure the page exists.

Getting Started, Make a Child menu Item in the Navigation Menu .
1. While on the Dashboard, select the "Edit Website" link at the top of your screen within the blue band next to the View Website option.
2. This will trigger the Visual Builder page to appear.
3. While in the Visual Builder page, select a menu item in the menu navigation which will apply a blue box around the menu item name, followed by selecting the Pencil Icon that appears in the box surrounding the menu item.
4. This will prompt your Menu Builder screen where you can add or remove new pages as well as update titles and redirect menu items to new destinations.
5. To Add A Child Menu Option To Your Menu Navigation, you have several categories on the left hand side to choose from.
- Pages - The pages listed here are what is located in your page list in the Content Module.
- Blog Posts - The pages listed here are individual Blog posts you have created over time.
- Events - The pages listed here are individual Event posts you have created over time.
- Promotions - The pages listed here are individual Promo posts you have created over time.
- Custom Link - A useful option if you want to link to an external page. You can create the label which is the name the menu item will display as, as well as the URL you would like to link to.
- Ecommerce - For Advanced Users.
6. Once you determine which page you would like to apply to a child/dropdown status you can begin Adding It To The Menu by doing the following...
7. For this example lets say you want to Add A Contact Us Page to your menu as a child/dropdown page. So lets first open up your Pages Tab to expand the results.
8. Next, select the checkbox next to the name "Contact Us."
9. Once selected, you can then select the blue "Add to Menu" button which will then transfer that page into your Main Menu Item listed on the right hand side.
Next Do The Following:
A. Drag and Drop the desired Child/dropdown menu item under the page/menu item you would like to be the parent. See item C Below for more info.
B. Expand the Page box by selecting it - Once expanded you can edit the following options
- Label - Name of the Page
- URL - The link in which once selected the user will navigate to.
- Title - Used for the visually impaired and will be what is read on their screen reader. Its common to copy the name of the page here.
C. Make a menu item a child - If you would like to make the Contact Us page (for example) appear in a dropdown under the home navigation menu item then you would put the Contact Us box under the Home Page page box, expand the Contact Us page box for more options, and then selected the "Child" checkbox.
Once these changes are completed you can select the blue "Submit" button to make the changes live.
