How to Create a New Page (Via The NETSIMPLE Dashboard):



Overview: This guide will walk you through how to create a new page to add to your website.



1. While on the Dashboard, select the "Content" module on the left-hand side of your screen.

2. Next, in the dropdown menu select the "Page" option.


3. This will open the "Page" window where you can create, edit, delete, or clone previous pages on your website.


4. While on the "Pages" window select the blue "Add New Page" button to the top center of your screen next to the search bar


Next, Fill the the following fields...


A. Page URL - This is the tail end of your page URL for example if the page was titled "Try Our POS" then the slug would be https://netsimple.io/try-our-pos 


Note: URLs should always be lower case and spaces should be input with a dash (-)


B. Page Name - This is what will be displayed in your list view and when searched online. It can also be capitalized and can included spaces with no dashes, unlike the Page URL.


C. Link Title - This can be the same as the Page Name.


D. Featured Image - Select the "Select File" button to open your File Managers to select a new photo that will appear front and center when shared on social media and elsewhere.


E. Image Alt Text - Leave a descriptive short sentence explaining the image being displayed for your viewers with vision impairment.


F. Category - Leave as is.


G. Page Title - This is generally the same as the Page Name. 


H. Page Description - This will entice users to click by summarizing the pages content. improving click through rates.


Note: 

  • Keeps Concise (under 230 Characters, ideally 150-160 for optimal display)
  • Include relevant keywords to align with search intent.
  • Make it engaging and action-oriented (e.g., "discover how to create a blog post with         NETSIMPLEs easy dashboard tools")


I. Page Key Words - Keywords are words or phrases that users might type into a search engine (e.g., Google) to find content like your webpage. For example, for a blog post titled "Try Our POS," relevant keywords might include "POS System," "Point Of Sale," or Business Tools."


J. Canonical Tag - (can usually be left blank) These tags resolve duplicate content issues by telling search engines which URL is the authoritative source.


Example: if https://netsimple.io/try-our-pos and https://netsimple.io/try-our-pos?source=ad have identical content, the canonical tag on the latter would point to the former as the preferred URL.


K. Restrict Page Access - This feature when selected will enable a password to be created for guest access. Once selected a field will appear below the checkbox where a password can be input.


L. Index Page - This refers to the process by which search engines like Google, Bing, or Yahoo crawl, analyze, and store webpages in their databases to make them discoverable in search results.. When a webpage is "Indexed" it means the search engine pass processed its content, metadata, and links, allowing it to appear in search engine results pages (SERPs) when relevant queries are made.


Note: This is needed for SEO


M. Show Breadcrumb - breadcrumbs refer to the navigational feature called breadcrumbs whish is a trail of links displayed on a webpage to show users their current location within a websites hierarchy. It helps users understand the structure of the site and easily navigate back to higher level pages. 


N. Enabled is designated for which features will be displayed on your page. You can choose to enable tor disable the following based on what is selected.


  • Enable Header - If this box is unchecked then the header will not appear on this web page.
  • Enable Footer - If this box is unchecked then the footer will not appear on this web page. 
  • Detail Page - You can leave this unchecked as this is used for Ecom pages.


O. Enabled for Roles - You can leave all checked, unless you are an advanced user.


5. Once you have completed all of the necessary fields above, you can select the blue "Update Page" button located in the lower right-hand side of your window to create the page.
