Overview: This guide will walk you through how to link a button to your PDF file from the file manager.

Getting Started: How to Link a Button to a PDF File Via The File Manager

1. While on the Dashboard, select the "Edit Website" link at the top of your screen within the blue band next to the View Website option.

2. This will trigger the Visual Builder page to appear.

Note: Its very useful to have another tab open with your File Manager already open and on the ready in order to pull the URL pathways needed for linking PDFs. We will revert back to this in step 6 below.

3. While in the Visual Builder page, select the button you wish to to link t a PDF on any page and once selected you will have a handful of options appear above the image.

4. Select the icon that look like a Pencil (should be the first and should resemble a pencil.)

Note: The icon will read Edit Content.

5. Once the pencil icon has been selected you will then need to select the icon that appears that looks like Pencil and Pad.

You will be prompted with a new pop up window that will display the following fields...

A. Text To Display - This is the forward facing text/numbers displayed to the user located on the button.

B. Title - This field is designated for screen readers for the visually impaired as well as helps the system communicate where this section is.

C. Href - This is the URL or link section that will direct the button click to your desired location, in this case the PDF.

6. Now you can go back to the tab you have open with the File Manager and Right Click on the file/PDF you would like to link to the button.

7. Next, in the dropdown options, select 'Show UL."

Note: You can either highlight and copy the URL directly or select the "Copy" button.

8. After you have copied the URL, navigate back to the Visual Builder Tab where you are editing your button and input that URL into the Href field.

9. Now you can select the "Save" button.

10. Once you have updated the URL for your button be sure to navigate very top of your screen to the blue banner and select the "Save" and "Publish" icons to take your edit live.
